Happy Birthday, Diddle!

Now that Ella Grace is ONE year old, I wanted to share a few of the things she is doing.
We’ve got a talker on our hands…She can say "Mama," "Daddy," " Hi," "Hot," "Bye-Bye,” “Kitty” (she refers to all dogs that are smaller than Macee as Kitty) “Thank You,” “Bottle,” “Uh-Oh,” “Hey,” (used only to get your attention – OOPS!) “Ella,” “Papa,” “Gigi,” “YaYa,” and “Night Night”.

If you ask her what the dove says, she coos. If you ask her what an owl says, she hoots. I know, I know...what about the basics like, dog, cat, or cow. We're workin' on it...in time.

If she coughs once and you ask if she is sick, she keeps coughing. (She has done this for months and months.) But you have to say it in one of those poor pitiful voices. Drama.Queen.

She is speed crawling. She is standing up by herself and getting better at balancing but no steps yet…She’s not real patient and she knows that she can get their quicker right now if she crawls. The crawl where she shakes her head back and forth is the funniest.

She knows what "no" means. If she is doing something that she KNOWS she isn’t supposed to and you catch her at it or call her name she will shake her head “no”. She just looks at my earrings now and then looks at me and shakes her head. Good Girl, you are NOT supposed to try and rip Mommy’s earrings out of her ears!

She loves music (all kinds) and will happily dance to whatever is on. Shake it by Metro Station really gets her moving right now. It’s extremely cute when she’s in her car seat and shakes it back and forth and bobs her head…Note to self: I’m going to have to get that on video!

She is a great eater. The only thing that I can really think of that she ever made a funny face about was apple sauce when we first introduced it to her. I think it was the texture and the fact that it was one of the first “sweet” things that she tasted…She loves it now! She will eat a lemon or a lime without making any faces and she eats all of her vegetables. Her grandparents are getting her spoiled on Sorbet but I guess that’s their job, right?

She is a wonderful sleeper and never has a problem going to bed at 8:00 and about 7:30 or 8:00 the next morning she is up and ready to play with Daddy.

She has SEVEN teeth. The two bottom front ones came at Christmas. She got the top two teeth at about 9 months and two more bottom teeth around the beginning of summer. Never bothered her a bit. She goes to bed and wakes up the next morning with teeth peeking thru! She’s one tough cookie.

A few of her loves: going for walks, playing peek-a-boo (she covers her ears instead of her eyes) checking on cows with daddy, swimming, playing in the bathtub and shopping (we teach em young around here!)

Ella Grace is such a wonderful baby. We love, love, LOVE her! She has been a blessing in more ways than one to Chad and I. I thank God every day for her and for the highest honor of being her mother.

Happy Birthday, Diddle!

We Love You,

Mommy & Daddy
